The pitch
Pinetree Research is an AI lab building reliable long-horizon computer-use agents and the infrastructure they run on.
We own the full stack: the models, the agent harness, memory, and the environment layer, including our own browser built from scratch rather than rented. We build different products on top of that stack. Solari is one of them: the fastest infrastructure layer for AI agents, with cloud browsers, sandboxes, and desktops from one API, each session on a hardware-isolated microVM. Alongside Solari we build vertical AI workers that operate enterprise software with no usable APIs, starting with back-office administration.
Problem
AI can reason, but execution is still unreliable. Agents need an isolated place to browse the web, run code, or operate software, and as fleets grow those environments have to start fast, stay contained, and run in parallel. Today’s providers are slow to start (Browserbase ~3s end to end, Anchorbrowser ~8s), bill for idle time, and share compute across sessions. Meanwhile most enterprise workflows live in portals and legacy applications with no API, where RPA breaks on minor UI changes and general LLMs hallucinate over long-horizon tasks.
Solution
A frontier reasoning backbone paired with small, trainable environment-specific world models that specialize to a given piece of software in under a week, running on infrastructure we built for exactly that. Solari exposes that infrastructure to any team: browsers for agents that browse, authenticate, scrape, and interact with the web; sandboxes for isolated compute; desktops for agents that control full applications and resume from memory snapshots with state intact. Same client, auth, and session management across all three; Playwright or any CDP client; stealth, proxy, and captcha built in; VPC deployment available.
Progress so far
Infrastructure benchmarks: fastest browser on Steel’s open-source benchmark at 199ms end to end (8ms create) vs 794ms Kernel, 894ms Steel, 2,967ms Browserbase; fastest sandbox on the nibzard benchmark at 8.2s vs 10.8s E2B, 11.9s Modal. Built in ~7 months on under $1M pre-seed; work presented at ICLR. Solari is live with over 2000+ developers and 100+ companies using our product.
